Exploring the wonderful world of #VINTAGE!

Dude.  I have been SO FREAKING BUSY the past couple months (hence, no bloggy blogs).  I’ve worked on countless shoots, worked a million hours at my job, been a slave to Photoshop, and so much more.  A large amount of my time as been spent building an Online Store for an up and coming #Vintage brand called “Lin&Lamar Curated Vintage”.

Lin and Lamar are a super dope couple who have collected a BRILLIANT wardrobe over their years traveling the world in the 1960′s, 70′s and 80′s.  They’ve given me stylist rights to dig into their closets and help sift out the cutest, best, most sophisticated #Vintage pieces to sell online.

Lin Givelove and I have been working very closely to get their shop ready for the world, and we’re just a couple days away!  Woohoo!

GET THE LOOK: Gray Smoky Eye c/o “The Naked” + The Curvy Fashionista

One of my FAVORITE bloggers Marie Denee was featured in Regard Magazine this week!  Marie is the lovely lady responsible for the widely known website “The Curvy Fashionista”, which is a shopping and lifestyle resource blog for plus sized women.

Now Marie is freaking GORGEOUS, and when I saw the article on her I thought “dude!  She looks FLAWLESS!  Outfits, Smoky eyes, the whole nine!”, so I thought Id do a breakdown of her eyeshadow look in the feature.

Not to say I told you so, but…

I opened the new Vogue and there’s a blurb on BB Creams!

“BB Creams” aka Beauty Balm aka Blemish Balm are all the rage!

What’s a BB Cream, right?

I first heard about this product from Urban Decay’s Global Sales Director Eric Jimenez.  He had just come from a trip to South East Asia and he was raving about this product called a “Blemish Balm”, and spoke of it as an all-in-one skin prep cream.  I thought “holy smack!!  That’s amazing!”  So I did a little research and found out that the Asian beauty industry had developed a product that would treat, hydrate, prime and even out any blemishes on the skin.  I thought this was awesome.  After  a little more reading I learned that they define a ‘blemish’ to be any imperfection, such as redness, discoloration, dryness, etc., not just a pimple as we Americans think.

 

Fast forward 6 months to the Spring 2012 launches for every makeup brand and lo and behold, BB Creams are EVERYWHERE!  And of course I’ve been on a hunt for the best one ever since.  Urban Decay has not launched one yet, though Im hoping they will.  Until that happens, here are some of my favorites:

The Smashbox one is dope because it comes in a wide variety of skin colors!

So here’s what a BB Cream does:

It brightens skin in the same way a primer does, evens out complexion like a lightweight foundation, covers blemishes like a concealer, has the hydrating properties of a moisturiser, soothes skin like an anti-inflammatory, contains UV protection — so no need for sunblock — and has the sort of anti-ageing ingredients more commonly found in serums.
